In 2018 I joined the Lacey Township Preschool team and began teaching PSD -Preschool Disabled and Inclusion. Once again I fell in love with preschool as well as my new district and my amazing new team. I immediately signed up at Kean University to complete my masters in Special Education and in May 2021 I will finally graduate. My aim is to hang my hat at the Lacey School District and be a foundational part of a growing early childhood program is a community oriented district.

Inspired by my overwhelming love for Books, Books and more Books along with the need for some funding in the Preschool Program where I taught, I helped to coordinate a book fair to raise money and help get us BOOKS!!
The theme of the book fair was Circus. My class kicked off the decorating for this event by creating a hallway filled with clowns. The Book fair was a HUGE success.

CHILDREN'S ART STUDIO
OWNER/MASTER TEACHER
For a little over 5 years I had the amazing privilege of owning an Art & Party studio in my town. It was a phenomenal place to be a part of and it offered me the opportunity to work with hundreds of children and families at all stages of life. Monday through Friday we offered art classes for children 18 months to 18 years old. From Mommy & Me to Fine Art Instruction. I loved designing the curriculum, imagineering new art shows and working with talented artists, but mostly I loved teaching the classes.
On the weekends it was Paint, Play and Party time! Friday-Sunday we hosted hundreds of kids birthday parties on and off site. I loved being the best part of a child's day and making birthday magic for them. Whether it was teaching classes or hosting birthday parties my favorite part of owning Smarty Paints was always just being with the kids.
CLASSES
At Smarty Paints we offered a variety of classes and sessions including Mommy & Me 18 months- 3, Preschoolers (3-5yrsold), Kaleidoscope Kids (kindergarten-2nd grade), Young Artists (3rd-6th), Teens, Adult Scrapbooking and more. Every 8 weeks we offered different themed sessions, with new skills and an inspiring curriculum. Once a year we hosted a longer session culminating in a fabulous art show.
As the owner and Master teacher I was responsible for designed and implementing a unique and creative differentiated curriculum every 8-10 weeks for students ranging from 18 months - 18 years. It was often challenging to keep projects fresh while making them educational, inspiring and meaningful, but the results were always successful. I throughly enjoyed my years teaching and designing Art Classes.
ONSITE PARTIES
Hosting Birthday Parties was a huge part of the business. On any given weekend we hosted anywhere from 1 - 7 parties depending on the time of year. As the owner it was my responsibility to create the party themes, set the timeline for the parties, mange the schedule, staff and supplies. It was important to make sure that each child's birthday was a memorable experience. I also loved being the lead Party Hostess as much as I could. Who wouldn't want to be the best part of a child's day and get paid to party with them?
Over the 5 years at Smarty Paints I hosted hundreds of birthday parties for thousands of kids. Being in the Party Planning business requires an exuberant amount of energy and a strict work ethic. When you are the life of the party you must always bring high energy and you can never call out sick or take a day off because the party must always go on. Thankfully I am naturally a high energy personality and I pride myself in my dependability, so this challenge was easy for me.
OFFSITE PARTIES
Two years after I purchased Smarty Paints - I merged with another Children's Party Business - Woop De Doo Kids in order to add on outdoor party option to our business. Upon this merge we began offering offsite themed parties, carnival parties, moon bounces, waterslides and more! Offsite parties were a HUGE success and I loved being the party MC and traveling all over the county entertaining and hosting children's birthday parties.
SPECIAL EVENTS
Birthday Parties, Art Shows and Art Classes wasn't all we did at Smarty Paints. We also hosted a variety of events in the community both profit and non-profit. Each year we hosted a summer camp for local children and were a destination for other summer camp trips such as the YMCA, St Francis and more. We organized and coordinated school carnivals for over 100 kids and every year we donated a free carnival to the local preschool to give back! We hosted award ceremonies for teams and marched in the local parade. I loved all the opportunity I had to coordinate events and give back to my community as the owner of Smarty Paints.
